I know. I’ve been talking all week about how I stink at organized blog activities, but I’m one of the organizers of a Blogfest? WTH? That’s like putting me in charge of the checkbook, or asking me to guard the bacon, or to take fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies to a bake sale.

You might not think this makes any sense, but it does.

A blogfest is a great way to meet new people, see what they have to say and get your stuff in front of them. I’ve never been part of a blogfest, but, as I understand it, it’s pretty easy:

All you have to do is to write a blog post. Post it at the designated time. Fill out a Linky thing, read a few posts, and give us your first-born child.

Oh?

Apparently, we dropped that last requirement?

  1. Oh, this looks like it could be fun! Thanks for getting the word out. Now, I need to decide on my most cherished item (and, no, it won’t be my new bidet).

    • Oh c’mon – a photo of you on your new throne will be the Talk of the BlogFest 😀😀😀

This one will be a lot of fun because the requirements are so easy and the organizers are terrific people, writers and bloggers all wrapped in one!

I’ve got to make time early this week to add the Cherished Badge to my blog. Cheryl did a really nice job on designing it.

  2. Thanks so much for spreading the word about this blogfest Sammy. I think it’s going to be fun.

  3. ooooh, I wasn’t sure I’d do another blogfest type of thing but I’m really tempted by this one, it sounds ace…!

  4. Thanks for promoting this. I’ve signed up for it and announced it on my blog.

    • Thank you so much, Eileen for spreading the word. Now that you’ve remived all your uncherished objects, i look forward to seeing a special item you cherish!

  5. Might be fun, Sammy dear ❤

    • I hope you sign up, Dani. Nothing more than a photo or paragraph about an object you cherish. Even I feel comfortable committing and knowing I will actually follow through 😀. (The follow through sometimes thwarts my best intentions!!)

      Blessings. 💐

  6. Well, Sammy, you are way smarter than me… I can’t figure out how to add the badge to my sidebar. All the instructions I can find assume some base knowledge that I don’t seem to have.

    • Wait, What?!?

No, i don’t have it on my sidebar because I can’t figure that stuff out either!!! It’s just a photo in my post (see below).

I know sudebar images are something in ‘administration’ then ‘widgets’ then ‘image’ but i’ve driven myself TOO crazy trying to figure out WordPress stuff that I use once in a blue moon. I am DONE trying to figure out sidebar stuff!

All I did was (on my desktop computer) rightclick the Cherished image and saved it as a picture then uploaded it to media like any other photo to put in my post.

But it’s not on my sidebar and I hope the Cherished hosts will forgive me for not figuring that out.
