Bemuzin – A Boomer Blog Blooms
Don’t some years just scream “Warning: Change Ahead”?
Do you heed the warning? I don’t make New Year’s resolutions, and I’m not a goal setter. I am, however, very mindful of whether the year just ended was a screamer. This one was.
That’s the easy part – hearing the scream. The harder part is figuring out what already changed or what needs to change and how to change it.
When you reach this stage (age), you’ve already made lots of changes, and it’s easier to hear the remaining long-ignored voices inside whispering, “What about me? Why haven’t you tried me? When are you going to try me?”
WRITE is the recurring whisper I hear. I’m finally going to listen. When my niece encouraged me to write, and suggested doing so for an audience, I immediately turned to my go-to source whenever I want to learn something new – ordering books from Amazon. In my haste to procure a few writing guides, I (mis)typed Amazin.com.
WOW, I thought. That’s amazing! What if it’s a sign I’m making the right choice to write? What if it’s a sign I could become an amazing writer? What if it’s a sign my blog should be called Amazin.com?
Naturally when I tried to use that for my blog name, there’s already an Amazin writer (or two…or a few million…).
I tried BeMazin and Amuzin to no avail, and BeMoreAmazin was way too competitive for my modest venture. I settled on Bemuzin, deciding I can be amazing, amusing, bemused, or musing depending on my topic and mood.
Will this work? I have no idea. I know I need to write for me. I don’t know if I need to write for you. I know I can operate a handwritten notebook. I don’t know if I can operate an online blog.
I’ll stay tuned. What about you?
